Long Version:
I have been involved with music since day one. From making a drum set out of shoe boxes and tree limbs at age 5 to producing and recording in my home studio / JJK Studios - Cleveland, Ohio. I write music and play the guitar, piano, bass and drums and plan to always have music in my life. I have spent 35 years behind a drum set and now work as a singer songwriter/entertainer in my new project, Cleveland's Rock and Roll Acoustic Jam Band - "Wooden Ships"...The Acoustic Combo with Bongos. Along with my good friend Doug Price, we have a lot of fun hosting Jam Nights, Happy Hours and anything else we can get caught up in! I have played drums in many local bands over the decades including Bootleg, One Brick Shy and The Original Project / Discenzo. I also worked my way through the Radio world as the Event Coordinator and up to Marketing Director at 98.5 WNCX / 107.9 The End. Thanks to Doug Podell, Steve Legerski, Bob Newmann, Marshall Goudy and Michael Stanley, I was able to book and play some cool gigs. In 2007 I had spent 4 years with the local Brunswick Band Renegade. In this band I got out from behind the set, started an Acoustic set and work on my song writing. It's much easier to present the songs with a guitar instead of a drum set. I worked an Acoustic set into the band and started booking Acoustic Jam Nights. It felt great to get out from behind the set and play Guitar! For me, it was the best thing that could have happened. After some major communication break downs and still not able to agree ..rites, I had to at least take a break from the cover band thing and work on my music full time. I set the band up with a fill in drummer, sound company and bookings for 3 months and left for Nashville - June 07!
I released three solo CD's in 2007 including a Christmas cd that I had the vocals recorded in Nashville with vocalist Jason Spencer. I would like to thank Wood Newton / Rope a Note Studios and engineers Dave Rojack and Charles English for the support. I also have co-wrote songs and recorded on other projects with CD's available. With interest brewing in 2008 - I hear Atlantic and EMI are looking - and the support of my great friend Doug Price - Doug's says the stars are lining up - Bill Hudson and Planet Studios for making it work, I go to Nashville and play the Bluebird Cafe and other clubs. I now have time behind the mic on stage with my guitar, 4 CD's, new songs and looking for "Stunt Singers"! As the year plows by, I plan to stay on the path I've made for my music! Thanks for the support!
